Process, People, Product

11/16/2023 Click here for Spotify, Apple Music, or Youtube. “Process, People, Product” is my 63rd official release. This song is edutainment and fiense about business inspired by Marcus Lemonis’s business philosophy “the 3 p’s” from his CNBC show “The Profit.” The song was recorded at Crack House Recordings in Lansing Michigan and produced, including the beat, by TheyCallMeHeat. The cover art is by ArtworkGang from Fiverr.

I talk about this blog post and other updates in the latest Sunday update here:

I intentionally dropped this song on November 16th because it’s Marcus’s birthday. I love Marcus. As you can read in the comic luve log after I uploaded this track probably back around January I actually went looking for Marcus in Chicago around June. We follow each other on twitter. I have told him all of this but he doesn’t respond.

I wanted to make a deal for a project for funding. I want to do an album that’s just business advice from Marcus. Basically this song is an example of what I could do. “Process People Product” is based on Marcus’s 3 P’s philosophy and the lyrics come from quotes that I got off his instagram. The goal would be to do an album from quotes and inspiration from Marcus.

The profit definitely has helped me think like a business. Marcus is mostly to thank for my business acumen. Doing business with Marcus would be a dream come true.

There’s not a lot of people or entities I would let own my music, but I’d be willing to make concessions for Marcus if he wanted to invest. It was my dream to do business with Marcus since I started releasing as Eric Leo 108. I actually put a song dedicated to ‘The Profit’ as the last track in “The Chalice Mixtape” that I haven’t remade, and probably won’t, and is on SoundCloud

I have since let this dream go, or at least I’m not chasing it. Now, what I really want is a loan from Marcus and his blessing and or investment in an album and associated products and marketing. I don’t think hiphop is a business Marcus wants to be in. I don’t ever expect to hear from him unless I can make him money in another way.

As I made the call for help a couple months back, I still need a videographer. It’s not that what I need is expensive the way I run it. The problem is I have such little money to work with. I need money for marketing and promotion basically.

I don’t have a job, but I do work, I just don’t get paid much for my hip-hop yet. I got a job for the seed money to start my music business. I made about 9k in a year but I’ve gon through it. I refuse to work fast food anymore (which is really the only job available around me) the way America exploits labor, if I don’t have to…My entire budget is less than $300 a month plus maybe another $50 from royalties.

I’m a prolific artist. As far as discography goes I’ve already out worked most of the industry. The only thing holding me back from making more music and building an audience is money. I don’t have the funds to release a song every week and discover and reach my audience through marketing dollars. I’ll have 100 tracks out by around March 2024 and I still feel like no one cares. I’ll probably never make it because of situations like this where I can’t get attention or funding let alone a deal for marketing which shows dreams don’t come true in America, unless you have the money to afford them.

Lyrics:

When it comes life, get yours, got it

This message comes to you from CNBC’s “The Profit”

I got the recipe for success in life in business

Strive to be your best self, look it’s real simple

I got the strategy, the plan to make it grand

Process, People, Product give the three P's a chance

I got the recipe for success in life in business

Strive to be your best self, look it’s real simple

I got the strategy, the plan to make it grand

Process, People, Product give the three P's a chance

The three P’s are business ingredients to live by

Together they’ll show you how to do it right

The first step, surround yourself with good people

Don’t compromise who you are, reach for hope

Take the time, strive for innovation

Action requires initiative, not invitation

Take Marcus’s advice for money accruement

If you don’t love what you do than you shouldn’t do it

People will work for recognition and opportunity

More than they'll work for money and jewelry

Your what makes it worth it, people are the purpose

The whole point of a product is to be of service

Not about being wealthy, it’s about connection

Can’t be affraid to fail or learn life’s lessons

People are important, their happiness a need

People are the reason the business fails or succeeds

I got the recipe for success in life in business

Strive to be your best self, look it’s real simple

I got the strategy, the plan to make it grand

Process, People, Product give the three P's a chance

We talked about people, the most important

But process and product a core part of the vision

Focus on efficiency, streamline the process

Organization is key to getting orders done quick

To produce a consistent product, fine-tune your process

There’s nothing like a system that’s cost-efficient

control your cash, stick to your core business

know your numbers, merchandise what sells big

Hear your customers out, take time and listen

Focus on the goal and your value proposition

Aren’t open to change, don’t expect to improve

Take what you learned here and use it as a tool

When someone challenges you, gives you flack

Do what you gotta do, put yourself to task

Put up or shut up, It’s not about luck

Performance is the best way to shut people up

I got the recipe for success in life in business

Strive to be your best self, look it’s real simple

I got the strategy, THE plan to make it grand

Process, People, Product give the three P's a chance
