And then I wasn’t me again
I thought I’zz being stalked and I couldn’t be a friend
Lost years of progress, on bars and projects
Clouded thoughts and process, couldn’t focus or profit
I lost ten years to mental illness
So when you listen to me you hear my experience with it
Distorted dissociation assorted in my vision
They tell me I’m sick with it and extraordinarily gifted
Cuz I blog the decision, write nonfiction
And then put it in a song for the audience to listen
It’s been quite the journey, and still being written
Strive to be a better person, and heal the division
Been to plenty of psych wards, not tryna visit again
But when I do it I tell’em I’m a good ol’ boy from Michigan
